A member who for a period of two years or more, in spite of spiritual care, has not attended the church’s worship or contributed to its support, or partaken of communion shall have its membership status reviewed. Members will have an opportunity to affirm their membership bi-annually through participation, communication, or contribution to be retained on church rolls and keep records up to date.
We kindly request that you complete this form to confirm your membership status at Christ Church U.C.C. - Des Plaines. Please indicate your preference on the form if you wish to withdraw your membership. In addition, we offer the option to be listed as a friend of the congregation, which includes remaining on our mailing list. Thank you for your consideration.

Waiving your membership does not release you from our prayers and concerns.

Members shall commit themselves to attend the regular worship of the church and the celebration of the Lord’s Supper; to live the Christian Life; to share in the life and work of the church; to contribute to its support and benevolences; and to work diligently to provide for the spiritual welfare of the membership and the community.


a. Persons who have been duly received into its communion by Confirmation, by letter of transfer, or by profession of faith, shall be communicant members of the congregation and shall be entitled to all its rights and privileges.


b. Communicant members in good and regular standing shall have the right to voice and vote in the congregation and also to represent the congregation on the Church Council or other judicatories of the church. A member shall be a minimum of 18 years of age to be elected to the Church Council.

Any time you call, we will seek to minister to you faithfully as the church has done in the past. Inactive members are not eligible to vote in church meetings or hold church office. Still, we encourage you not to lose touch with the fellowship.
